KAYAKING
Vermont is abundant with lakes, reservoirs, river and streams and offers a wide range of water sport possibilities.
Depending on the time of year, kayaking, canoeing and tubing can be exciting or a lazy meander on our Mad River that gets it’s name because it flows south to north. The Winooski River, which the Mad River flows into, is not far away and offers miles of interesting waters.Nearby Blueberry Lake is the perfect compliment to a hot, summer’s day. It’s a great spot for swimming, canoeing, kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, tubing – what have you; any non-motorized water sport is welcome.
Further, guided trips on the water can be easily had on many of the nearby lakes and rivers. Go to Clearwater Sports for just such a trip. They can be your guides for exploration or just to set you up for your own adventures. A full-service outfitter, they can provide all the equipment you need and full instructions: canoes, kayaks, safety vests, maps, and more. Even a local shuttle service is available, if you so desire.
